अपू॑र्व्या पुरु॒तमा॑न्यस्मै म॒हे वी॒राय॑ त॒वसे॑ तु॒राय॑ । वि॒र॒प्शिने॑ व॒ज्रिणे॒ शंत॑मानि॒ वचां॑स्या॒सा स्थवि॑राय तक्षम्
apūrvyā purutamānyasmai mahe vīrāya tavase turāya virapśine vajriṇe śaṃtamāni vacāṃsyāsā sthavirāya takṣam
Unprecedented, the foremost of warriors, mighty in heroism and swift in strength: to you, O skillful one, the strong‑minded have given these steady words and the firm carver.

स मा॒तरा॒ सूर्ये॑णा कवी॒नामवा॑सयद्रु॒जदद्रिं॑ गृणा॒नः । स्वा॒धीभि॒रृक्व॑भिर्वावशा॒न उदु॒स्रिया॑णामसृजन्नि॒दान॑म्
sa mātarā sūryeṇā kavīnāmavāsayadrujadadriṃ gṛṇānaḥ svādhībhirṛkvabhirvāvaśāna udusriyāṇāmasṛjannidānam
He, like a mother, placed the poets near the sun and uttered praise; with settled songs and inspired hymns he fashioned the offerings for the eager ones.

स वह्नि॑भि॒रृक्व॑भि॒र्गोषु॒ शश्व॑न्मि॒तज्ञु॑भिः पुरु॒कृत्वा॑ जिगाय । पुरः॑ पुरो॒हा सखि॑भिः सखी॒यन्दृ॒ळ्हा रु॑रोज क॒विभिः॑ क॒विः सन्
sa vahnibhirṛkvabhirgoṣu śaśvanmitajñubhiḥ purukṛtvā jigāya puraḥ purohā sakhibhiḥ sakhīyandṛḷhā ruroja kavibhiḥ kaviḥ san
He, with fires and songs, made the cows and kine steadfast, celebrated by kindred friends; the seer, the poet among poets, went forth, stirring up praise.

स नी॒व्या॑भिर्जरि॒तार॒मच्छा॑ म॒हो वाजे॑भिर्म॒हद्भि॑श्च॒ शुष्मैः॑ । पु॒रु॒वीरा॑भिर्वृषभ क्षिती॒नामा गि॑र्वणः सुवि॒ताय॒ प्र या॑हि
sa nīvyābhirjaritāramacchā maho vājebhirmahadbhiśca śuṣmaiḥ puruvīrābhirvṛṣabha kṣitīnāmā girvaṇaḥ suvitāya pra yāhi
With lofty steeds and great treasures, with fair worth and subtle stores, with heroic ones and mighty bulls called by names of the earth, proclaim widely the song for the prosperous.

स सर्गे॑ण॒ शव॑सा त॒क्तो अत्यै॑र॒प इन्द्रो॑ दक्षिण॒तस्तु॑रा॒षाट् । इ॒त्था सृ॑जा॒ना अन॑पावृ॒दर्थं॑ दि॒वेदि॑वे विविषुरप्रमृ॒ष्यम्
sa sargeṇa śavasā takto atyairapa indro dakṣiṇatasturāṣāṭ itthā sṛjānā anapāvṛdarthaṃ divedive viviṣurapramṛṣyam
By creation, with the breath so fixed, Indra struck from the southern flank the strong foes. Thus he formed beings, opening paths day by day, spreading beyond restraint.
