Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 6, Sukta 2 · Verse 6.2.1
tvaṃ hi kṣaitavadyaśo'gne mitro na patyase tvaṃ vicarṣaṇe śravo vaso puṣṭiṃ na puṣyasi
You, Agni, are the earth-knower of glory; O Mitra, you do not trust. You do not nourish the wealth of sacrificial circling when it is investigated.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 6, Sukta 2 · Verse 6.2.2
tvāṃ hi ṣmā carṣaṇayo yajñebhirgīrbhirīḷate tvāṃ vājī yātyavṛko rajastūrviśvacarṣaṇiḥ
Indeed you are stirred by offerings and praises in the rites; you overcome by sacrifices. You, the swift steed, go forth like a wolf—royal, all-circling in your courses.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 6, Sukta 2 · Verse 6.2.3
sajoṣastvā divo naro yajñasya ketumindhate yaddha sya mānuṣo janaḥ sumnāyurjuhve adhvare
Companion of the heavens, you set the banner of sacrifice; what is the human that stands firm? He offers with long life and keeps the vow of the altar.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 6, Sukta 2 · Verse 6.2.4
ṛdhadyaste sudānave dhiyā martaḥ śaśamate ūtī ṣa bṛhato divo dviṣo aṃho na tarati
Your prosperous ones, O generous one, are like strong sons; human thought rejoices. Raised from the great heaven, the hostile one does not cross the stream.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 6, Sukta 2 · Verse 6.2.5
samidhā yasta āhutiṃ niśitiṃ martyo naśat vayāvantaṃ sa puṣyati kṣayamagne śatāyuṣam
He who burns the fuel and offers the sacrificial oblation at night is not perishable. He nourishes the youthful one who declines, O Agni, with a hundred years of life.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 6, Sukta 2 · Verse 6.2.6
tveṣaste dhūma ṛṇvati divi ṣañchukra ātataḥ sūro na hi dyutā tvaṃ kṛpā pāvaka rocase
Smoke of yours ascends; in the sky you shine, bright and pure. O kind one, you are not the sunlit god; glowing, O purifier, you bestow radiance.
Rigveda 6.002.07
Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 6, Sukta 2 · Verse 6.2.7
adhā hi vikṣvīḍyo'si priyo no atithiḥ raṇvaḥ purīva jūryaḥ sūnurna trayayāyyaḥ
Beneath you is the revered one, pleasant, our honoured guest. The warrior in the city is like a young son of the triad.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 6, Sukta 2 · Verse 6.2.8
kratvā hi droṇe ajyase'gne vājī na kṛtvyaḥ parijmeva svadhā gayo'tyo na hvāryaḥ śiśuḥ
Having carved the fuel in the sacrificial pit, O Agni, do not fail the offering of the kine. The household-offering itself is the sacred libation; the child is not a farmer’s heir.

tvaṃ tyā cidacyutāgne paśurna yavase dhāmā ha yatte ajara vanā vṛścanti śikvasaḥ
You are that unshaken, Agni; the cattle do not decay in your keeping. The pastures for you never age; trees flourish and the grasses grow.

veṣi hyadhvarīyatāmagne hotā dame viśām samṛdho viśpate kṛṇu juṣasva havyamaṅgiraḥ
Set the steeds to the sacred press, Agni, the pourer and tamer of hosts. O wealthy Vispati, make abundant and accept the offering; Angiras, be propitious.

Grant us, O Mitra and in truth the gods, the good counsels; may you grant prosperity and protection from the heavens and humans. Save us from malice, deliver what you can deliver, protect by your favor.
