बृ॒हद्वयो॒ हि भा॒नवेऽर्चा॑ दे॒वाया॒ग्नये॑ । यं मि॒त्रं न प्रश॑स्तिभि॒र्मर्ता॑सो दधि॒रे पु॒रः
bṛhadvayo hi bhānave'rcā devāyāgnaye yaṃ mitraṃ na praśastibhirmartāso dadhire puraḥ
Great Vayu indeed is worshipful for the shining deity Agni. Whoever does not praise Mitra among mortals places him within the city.

स हि द्युभि॒र्जना॑नां॒ होता॒ दक्ष॑स्य बा॒ह्वोः । वि ह॒व्यम॒ग्निरा॑नु॒षग्भगो॒ न वार॑मृण्वति
sa hi dyubhirjanānāṃ hotā dakṣasya bāhvoḥ vi havyamagnirānuṣagbhago na vāramṛṇvati
He is indeed the ladle at offerings of mortals, the skilled sacrificer’s arms. Agni, accompanying the invoked, does not refuse portion or reward.

अ॒स्य स्तोमे॑ म॒घोनः॑ स॒ख्ये वृ॒द्धशो॑चिषः । विश्वा॒ यस्मि॑न्तुवि॒ष्वणि॒ सम॒र्ये शुष्म॑माद॒धुः
asya stome maghonaḥ sakhye vṛddhaśociṣaḥ viśvā yasmintuviṣvaṇi samarye śuṣmamādadhuḥ
In his hymn the generous friend, the aged singer, lamented. All those who are wise in the worlds set the gentle ones in order.

अधा॒ ह्य॑ग्न एषां सु॒वीर्य॑स्य मं॒हना॑ । तमिद्य॒ह्वं न रोद॑सी॒ परि॒ श्रवो॑ बभूवतुः
adhā hyagna eṣāṃ suvīryasya maṃhanā tamidyahvaṃ na rodasī pari śravo babhūvatuḥ
Below indeed is Agni of these, the mighty one’s counsel. This day the lament did not remain; around the hearing it became.

नू न॒ एहि॒ वार्य॒मग्ने॑ गृणा॒न आ भ॑र । ये व॒यं ये च॑ सू॒रयः॑ स्व॒स्ति धाम॑हे॒ सचो॒तैधि॑ पृ॒त्सु नो॑ वृ॒धे
nū na ehi vāryamagne gṛṇāna ā bhara ye vayaṃ ye ca sūrayaḥ svasti dhāmahe sacotaidhi pṛtsu no vṛdhe
Come now, bring the libation, O Agni; bear our praises. Those we and those heroes—may the abode be auspicious; protect us, O strong one, on the broad plains of the fathers.
