अ॒ग्निर्होता॑ पु॒रोहि॑तोऽध्व॒रस्य॒ विच॑र्षणिः । स वे॑द य॒ज्ञमा॑नु॒षक्
agnirhotā purohito'dhvarasya vicarṣaṇiḥ sa veda yajñamānuṣak
Agni, the hotar, the purohita, the discerner on the road, he knows the sacrificer and the worshipper.

स ह॑व्य॒वाळम॑र्त्य उ॒शिग्दू॒तश्चनो॑हितः । अ॒ग्निर्धि॒या समृ॑ण्वति
sa havyavāḷamartya uśigdūtaścanohitaḥ agnirdhiyā samṛṇvati
He bears the oblation-urn to mortals, the swift messenger appointed; Agni strengthens with mind and purpose.

अ॒ग्निर्धि॒या स चे॑तति के॒तुर्य॒ज्ञस्य॑ पू॒र्व्यः । अर्थं॒ ह्य॑स्य त॒रणि॑
agnirdhiyā sa cetati keturyajñasya pūrvyaḥ arthaṃ hyasya taraṇi
Agni, through thought he perceives the banner — the former signalling of the sacrifice; this is his ferrying across.

Agni, offspring born by the brave, heard in truth, the all-knowing born one; the gods made the fire undying.

From the first dwellings he came to men: fire of the homesteads among humans; swift chariot, ever new.

He, the sacrifice's power, yoked all beings; the divine's ambrosia — Agni is most famed.

abhi prayāṃsi vāhasā dāśvām̐ aśnoti martyaḥ kṣayaṃ pāvakaśociṣaḥ
When you go forth you, with speed, the mortal eats the tenfold food; the purifier laments the wasting.

परि॒ विश्वा॑नि॒ सुधि॑ता॒ग्नेर॑श्याम॒ मन्म॑भिः । विप्रा॑सो जा॒तवे॑दसः
pari viśvāni sudhitāgneraśyāma manmabhiḥ viprāso jātavedasaḥ
All around the wise have set their thoughts on the dark Agni with minds. The wise are born, all-knowing.

अग्ने॒ विश्वा॑नि॒ वार्या॒ वाजे॑षु सनिषामहे । त्वे दे॒वास॒ एरि॑रे
agne viśvāni vāryā vājeṣu saniṣāmahe tve devāsa erire
Agni, we call all the chosen streams in the powers of wealth; you are the gods' stirring.
