ग्रावा॑णेव॒ तदिदर्थं॑ जरेथे॒ गृध्रे॑व वृ॒क्षं नि॑धि॒मन्त॒मच्छ॑ । ब्र॒ह्माणे॑व वि॒दथ॑ उक्थ॒शासा॑ दू॒तेव॒ हव्या॒ जन्या॑ पुरु॒त्रा
grāvāṇeva tadidarthaṃ jarethe gṛdhreva vṛkṣaṃ nidhimantamaccha brahmāṇeva vidatha ukthaśāsā dūteva havyā janyā purutrā
Bring down the bounty like a herd; seize for that purpose the lofty tree like a vulture. As Brahman, as the inspired hymn, as the messenger he brought the fit oblation for the worshipful ones and for the people.

प्रा॒त॒र्यावा॑णा र॒थ्ये॑व वी॒राजेव॑ य॒मा वर॒मा स॑चेथे । मेने॑ इव त॒न्वा॒३॒॑ शुम्भ॑माने॒ दम्प॑तीव क्रतु॒विदा॒ जने॑षु
prātaryāvāṇā rathyeva vīrājeva yamā varamā sacethe mene iva tanvā3 śumbhamāne dampatīva kratuvidā janeṣu
At dawn the singers, like charioteers and splendid steeds, share the foremost sacrifice; they embrace the mighty pair like ritual-knowers among peoples.

शृङ्गे॑व नः प्रथ॒मा ग॑न्तम॒र्वाक्छ॒फावि॑व॒ जर्भु॑राणा॒ तरो॑भिः । च॒क्र॒वा॒केव॒ प्रति॒ वस्तो॑रुस्रा॒र्वाञ्चा॑ यातं र॒थ्ये॑व शक्रा
śaṛṅgeva naḥ prathamā gantamarvākchaphāviva jarbhurāṇā tarobhiḥ cakravākeva prati vastorusrārvāñcā yātaṃ rathyeva śakrā
Like horns the first of ours went forth; like sprouting shoots of the tall trees they rose. Like birds returning the chariot of Indra passed; Shakra moved forward as if in a chariot.

ना॒वेव॑ नः पारयतं यु॒गेव॒ नभ्ये॑व न उप॒धीव॑ प्र॒धीव॑ । श्वाने॑व नो॒ अरि॑षण्या त॒नूनां॒ खृग॑लेव वि॒स्रसः॑ पातम॒स्मान्
nāveva naḥ pārayataṃ yugeva nabhyeva na upadhīva pradhīva śvāneva no ariṣaṇyā tanūnāṃ khṛgaleva visrasaḥ pātamasmān
He bore us over as a ship; like an uplifted nave he supported the sky. Like dogs, the enemies rent the sinews of our bodies; may he preserve us from falling.

वाते॑वाजु॒र्या न॒द्ये॑व री॒तिर॒क्षी इ॑व॒ चक्षु॒षा या॑तम॒र्वाक् । हस्ता॑विव त॒न्वे॒३॒॑ शम्भ॑विष्ठा॒ पादे॑व नो नयतं॒ वस्यो॒ अच्छ॑
vātevājuryā nadyeva rītirakṣī iva cakṣuṣā yātamarvāk hastāviva tanve3 śambhaviṣṭhā pādeva no nayataṃ vasyo accha
Like wind are the paths, like rivers the everlasting keeping; as eye they go forth. Like hands they strengthen our frames; like feet they lead us, may the lord guide our dwelling.

ओष्ठा॑विव॒ मध्वा॒स्ने वद॑न्ता॒ स्तना॑विव पिप्यतं जी॒वसे॑ नः । नासे॑व नस्त॒न्वो॑ रक्षि॒तारा॒ कर्णा॑विव सु॒श्रुता॑ भूतम॒स्मे
oṣṭhāviva madhvāsne vadantā stanāviva pipyataṃ jīvase naḥ nāseva nastanvo rakṣitārā karṇāviva suśrutā bhūtamasme
Like lips they speak with honeyed mouths; like breasts they nourish our life. Like noses they protect our faces; like ears they are well-hearing for us.

हस्ते॑व श॒क्तिम॒भि सं॑द॒दी नः॒ क्षामे॑व नः॒ सम॑जतं॒ रजां॑सि । इ॒मा गिरो॑ अश्विना युष्म॒यन्तीः॒ क्ष्णोत्रे॑णेव॒ स्वधि॑तिं॒ सं शि॑शीतम्
hasteva śaktimabhi saṃdadī naḥ kṣāmeva naḥ samajataṃ rajāṃsi imā giro aśvinā yuṣmayantīḥ kṣṇotreṇeva svadhitiṃ saṃ śiśītam
Like a hand they join our strength; may they grant us patience and gather our frailties. These voices, O Ashvins, who are with you, have nurtured the sacred knowledge by a fleeting ear.

ए॒तानि॑ वामश्विना॒ वर्ध॑नानि॒ ब्रह्म॒ स्तोमं॑ गृत्सम॒दासो॑ अक्रन् । तानि॑ नरा जुजुषा॒णोप॑ यातं बृ॒हद्व॑देम वि॒दथे॑ सु॒वीराः॑
etāni vāmaśvinā vardhanāni brahma stomaṃ gṛtsamadāso akran tāni narā jujuṣāṇopa yātaṃ bṛhadvadema vidathe suvīrāḥ
These, O Ashvins, were strengthening, they performed the sacred hymn and offered clarified butter; men sought them as helpers, the great prayerful, the heroic ones, went with the song.
