हस्ते॑व श॒क्तिम॒भि सं॑द॒दी नः॒ क्षामे॑व नः॒ सम॑जतं॒ रजां॑सि । इ॒मा गिरो॑ अश्विना युष्म॒यन्तीः॒ क्ष्णोत्रे॑णेव॒ स्वधि॑तिं॒ सं शि॑शीतम्
hasteva śaktimabhi saṃdadī naḥ kṣāmeva naḥ samajataṃ rajāṃsi imā giro aśvinā yuṣmayantīḥ kṣṇotreṇeva svadhitiṃ saṃ śiśītam
Like a hand they join our strength; may they grant us patience and gather our frailties. These voices, O Ashvins, who are with you, have nurtured the sacred knowledge by a fleeting ear.
Like two hands, Aśvins, be ever investing us with vigour; like heaven and earth, bestow upon us rain; give sharpness to the praises that are addressed to you, as they whet an axe upon a grindstone.
Like two hands give ye us increasing vigour; like heaven and earth constrain the airy regions. Asvins, these hymns that struggle to approach you, sharpen ye like an axe upon a whetstone.
