Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 2, Sukta 18 · Verse 2.18.1
prātā ratho navo yoji sasniścaturyugastrikaśaḥ saptaraśmiḥ daśāritro manuṣyaḥ svarṣāḥ sa iṣṭibhirmatibhī raṃhyo bhūt
At dawn he yoked a new chariot: nine-spoked, with four yoked pairs, three-lashed, seven-rayed. Mortal by tenfold forms, the man of bulls seeks his prosperous will and aims to accomplish it.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 2, Sukta 18 · Verse 2.18.2
sāsmā araṃ prathamaṃ sa dvitīyamuto tṛtīyaṃ manuṣaḥ sa hotā anyasyā garbhamanya ū jananta so anyebhiḥ sacate jenyo vṛṣā
He placed the first as ours, the second as another, the third as human — so was the offering made. One bore another's womb, another begot offspring; other beings sowed and engendered pasture-producing cattle.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 2, Sukta 18 · Verse 2.18.3
harī nu kaṃ ratha indrasya yojamāyai sūktena vacasā navena mo ṣu tvāmatra bahavo hi viprā ni rīramanyajamānāso anye
Which chariot of Indra shall we harness today with a hymn and a new song? Many sages here do not restrain you; they are varied in purpose, other keepers of offerings.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 2, Sukta 18 · Verse 2.18.4
ā dvābhyāṃ haribhyāmindra yāhyā caturbhirā ṣaḍbhirhūyamānaḥ āṣṭābhirdaśabhiḥ somapeyamayaṃ sutaḥ sumakha mā mṛdhaskaḥ
From two of them, O Hari, the lustrations; O Indra, from four, six are invoked by us in sacrifice. From eight, ten — this Soma-drinking rite is well prepared; glorious, be kindly to us.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 2, Sukta 18 · Verse 2.18.5

ā viṃśatyā triṃśatā yāhyarvāṅā catvāriṃśatā haribhiryujānaḥ ā pañcāśatā surathebhirindrā ṣaṣṭyā saptatyā somapeyam
From twenty, from thirty, invoke the Maruts fortyfold, and Hari yoked them. From fifty, with suras, from sixty, seventy — this Soma-drinking rite.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 2, Sukta 18 · Verse 2.18.6
āśītyā navatyā yāhyarvāṅā śatena haribhiruhyamānaḥ ayaṃ hi te śunahotreṣu soma indra tvāyā pariṣikto madāya
From eighty and ninety invoke the Maruts by hundreds with Hari yoked. Indeed this Soma, purified for your libations in holy rites, Indra, is poured around you.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 2, Sukta 18 · Verse 2.18.7
mama brahmendra yāhyacchā viśvā harī dhuri dhiṣvā rathasya purutrā hi vihavyo babhūthāsmiñchūra savane mādayasva
My Brahman, Indra invoked, all the Haris hold the chariot's naves. The men indeed became powerful; O sword, enliven the bounty for the ritual.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 2, Sukta 18 · Verse 2.18.8
na ma indreṇa sakhyaṃ vi yoṣadasmabhyamasya dakṣiṇā duhīta upa jyeṣṭhe varūthe gabhastau prāyeprāye jigīvāṃsaḥ syāma
Not for Indra is friendship with those women who are our daughters by the southern gift. In the elder and in the choicest wombs, may they bear offspring; may we be often victors.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 2, Sukta 18 · Verse 2.18.9
nūnaṃ sā te prati varaṃ jaritre duhīyadindra dakṣiṇā maghonī śikṣā stotṛbhyo māti dhagbhago no bṛhadvadema vidathe suvīrāḥ
Indeed give her as gift, O Indra, the favour formerly won; as a willing milker grant the southern portion. Teach the praise-singers; may the mighty vow protect us and grant wide understanding to the brave.
