Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 10, Sukta 52 · Verse 10.52.1
viśve devāḥ śāstana mā yatheha hotā vṛto manavai yanniṣadya pra me brūta bhāgadheyaṃ yathā vo yena pathā havyamā vo vahāni
O all gods, instruct me not as a Hotr in what conduct the mind does not sit here. Speak to me the portion-bearing word as the paths by which you carry offerings and bring oblations.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 10, Sukta 52 · Verse 10.52.2
ahaṃ hotā nyasīdaṃ yajīyānviśve devā maruto mā junanti aharaharaśvinādhvaryavaṃ vāṃ brahmā samidbhavati sāhutirvām
I, the Hotr, sit down for the rite; may all the gods not vanquish the Maruts. The daily swift-horsed bearer, Brahmā, becomes for you the smoldering fuel—may the offering be yours.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 10, Sukta 52 · Verse 10.52.3
ayaṃ yo hotā kiru sa yamasya kamapyūhe yatsamañjanti devāḥ aharaharjāyate māsimāsyathā devā dadhire havyavāham
He who is Hotr—what does he win for Yama? Whatever the gods assemble: the day is born anew, the month thus is born; the gods set the havya-bearing order.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 10, Sukta 52 · Verse 10.52.4
māṃ devā dadhire havyavāhamapamluktaṃ bahu kṛcchrā carantam agnirvidvānyajñaṃ naḥ kalpayāti pañcayāmaṃ trivṛtaṃ saptatantum
The gods set me as havya-bearer, unbound, roaming through many hardships. Agni, the knower, fashioned for us the sacrificial rite: the fivefold, the threefold, the sevenfold string of sacred grass.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 10, Sukta 52 · Verse 10.52.5
ā vo yakṣyamṛtatvaṃ suvīraṃ yathā vo devā varivaḥ karāṇi ā bāhvorvajramindrasya dheyāmathemā viśvāḥ pṛtanā jayāti
Grant to us immortality, strong and heroic, as you, O gods, are like mighty waters in action. Outward like Indra's bolt be our thoughts; may all the worlds be victorious by righteous minds.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 10, Sukta 52 · Verse 10.52.6
trīṇi śatā trī sahasrāṇyagniṃ triṃśacca devā nava cāsaparyan aukṣanghṛtairastṛṇanbarhirasmā ādiddhotāraṃ nyasādayanta
Three hundred, three thousand, Agni of thirty and the nine gods surrounding: with clarified ghee, grass, and bark they kindled him; they set him as bearer and placed him.
