श्रत्ते॑ दधामि प्रथ॒माय॑ म॒न्यवेऽह॒न्यद्वृ॒त्रं नर्यं॑ वि॒वेर॒पः । उ॒भे यत्त्वा॒ भव॑तो॒ रोद॑सी॒ अनु॒ रेज॑ते॒ शुष्मा॑त्पृथि॒वी चि॑दद्रिवः
śratte dadhāmi prathamāya manyave'hanyadvṛtraṃ naryaṃ viverapaḥ ubhe yattvā bhavato rodasī anu rejate śuṣmātpṛthivī cidadrivaḥ
I set my ear first to the hymn; consider the slayer of Vṛtra, man separating waters. Both that which of you becomes tearful follows him; the subtle earth is like a cleaving.

त्वं मा॒याभि॑रनवद्य मा॒यिनं॑ श्रवस्य॒ता मन॑सा वृ॒त्रम॑र्दयः । त्वामिन्नरो॑ वृणते॒ गवि॑ष्टिषु॒ त्वां विश्वा॑सु॒ हव्या॒स्विष्टि॑षु
tvaṃ māyābhiranavadya māyinaṃ śravasyatā manasā vṛtramardayaḥ tvāminnaro vṛṇate gaviṣṭiṣu tvāṃ viśvāsu havyāsviṣṭiṣu
Do not be fooled by sorceries; cause the charm‑worker to cease — the mind of the hearer crush Vṛtra. Men choose you among wealths, you are called by all for oblations.

ऐषु॑ चाकन्धि पुरुहूत सू॒रिषु॑ वृ॒धासो॒ ये म॑घवन्नान॒शुर्म॒घम् । अर्च॑न्ति तो॒के तन॑ये॒ परि॑ष्टिषु मे॒धसा॑ता वा॒जिन॒मह्र॑ये॒ धने॑
aiṣu cākandhi puruhūta sūriṣu vṛdhāso ye maghavannānaśurmagham arcanti toke tanaye pariṣṭiṣu medhasātā vājinamahraye dhane
Among these are the priests, the brave, the mighty who lavish gifts; they worship the offspring of the line, the protectors with understanding, the givers of wealth and fame.

स इन्नु रा॒यः सुभृ॑तस्य चाकन॒न्मदं॒ यो अ॑स्य॒ रंह्यं॒ चिके॑तति । त्वावृ॑धो मघवन्दा॒श्व॑ध्वरो म॒क्षू स वाजं॑ भरते॒ धना॒ नृभिः॑
sa innu rāyaḥ subhṛtasya cākananmadaṃ yo asya raṃhyaṃ ciketati tvāvṛdho maghavandāśvadhvaro makṣū sa vājaṃ bharate dhanā nṛbhiḥ
He is the generous king, the friend of the noble, who knows the joy of sacrifice; increasing you, the bounteous, the steed-driver spreads the wealth of cows among men.

त्वं शर्धा॑य महि॒ना गृ॑णा॒न उ॒रु कृ॑धि मघवञ्छ॒ग्धि रा॒यः । त्वं नो॑ मि॒त्रो वरु॑णो॒ न मा॒यी पि॒त्वो न द॑स्म दयसे विभ॒क्ता
tvaṃ śardhāya mahinā gṛṇāna uru kṛdhi maghavañchagdhi rāyaḥ tvaṃ no mitro varuṇo na māyī pitvo na dasma dayase vibhaktā
You, O sovereign, with great might, strengthen our flanks, O generous one; be to us as Mitra and Varuna—do not be injurious, do not drink deceit, do not deny us your compassion divided.
