Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 10, Sukta 129 · Verse 10.129.1
nāsadāsīnno sadāsīttadānīṃ nāsīdrajo no vyomā paro yat kimāvarīvaḥ kuha kasya śarmannambhaḥ kimāsīdgahanaṃ gabhīram
There was neither nonexistence nor existence then; there was neither the realm of space beyond nor the waters deep. What covered what? Who protected? Whence came this creation's darkness?

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 10, Sukta 129 · Verse 10.129.2
na mṛtyurāsīdamṛtaṃ na tarhi na rātryā ahna āsītpraketaḥ ānīdavātaṃ svadhayā tadekaṃ tasmāddhānyanna paraḥ kiṃ canāsa
Death did not exist nor immortality; night and day were not. There was only the One breathed by heat; who knows whence it sprang?

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 10, Sukta 129 · Verse 10.129.3
tama āsīttamasā gūḷhamagre'praketaṃ salilaṃ sarvamā idam tucchyenābhvapihitaṃ yadāsīttapasastanmahinājāyataikam
That was hidden in the beginning, unmanifest, enveloped by darkness; it was this all together. From that, when even that was cast aside, the ascetic One was born—alone.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 10, Sukta 129 · Verse 10.129.4
kāmastadagre samavartatādhi manaso retaḥ prathamaṃ yadāsīt sato bandhumasati niravindanhṛdi pratīṣyā kavayo manīṣā
Desire came forward first among what was in the mind, the primal semen. Poets, pondering in hearts like lotus, sought its kin from truth; thus was thought born.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 10, Sukta 129 · Verse 10.129.5
tiraścīno vitato raśmireṣāmadhaḥ svidāsī3dupari svidāsī3t retodhā āsanmahimāna āsansvadhā avastātprayatiḥ parastāt
Rays extended and spread: below they were, above they were. The semen lay below, the mighty one sat above; from that state effort proceeded, and then what was beyond.

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 10, Sukta 129 · Verse 10.129.6
Who really knows? Who here declared it? Whence was born this creation? The gods may have been before its separation—who knows from what it arose?
Rigveda 10.129.07
Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 10, Sukta 129 · Verse 10.129.7
iyaṃ visṛṣṭiryata ābabhūva yadi vā dadhe yadi vā na yo asyādhyakṣaḥ parame vyomanso aṅga veda yadi vā na veda
If this creation arose from what, or not—who supervises it in the highest heaven? Who knows its limbs—if known or not known?
