तम॑ आसी॒त्तम॑सा गू॒ळ्हमग्रे॑ऽप्रके॒तं स॑लि॒लं सर्व॑मा इ॒दम् । तु॒च्छ्येना॒भ्वपि॑हितं॒ यदासी॒त्तप॑स॒स्तन्म॑हि॒नाजा॑य॒तैक॑म्
tama āsīttamasā gūḷhamagre'praketaṃ salilaṃ sarvamā idam tucchyenābhvapihitaṃ yadāsīttapasastanmahinājāyataikam
That was hidden in the beginning, unmanifest, enveloped by darkness; it was this all together. From that, when even that was cast aside, the ascetic One was born—alone.
There was darkness covered by darkness in the beginning, all this (world) was undistinguishablewater; that empty united (world) which was covered by a mere nothing, was produced through the power ofausterity.
Darkness there was: at first concealed in darknew this All was indiscriminated chaos. All that existed then was void and form less: by the great power of Warmth was born that Unit.
