अग्ने॒ हंसि॒ न्य१॒॑त्रिणं॒ दीद्य॒न्मर्त्ये॒ष्वा । स्वे क्षये॑ शुचिव्रत
agne haṃsi nya1triṇaṃ dīdyanmartyeṣvā sve kṣaye śucivrata
Agni, O swan, protector, shine among mortals. In your own diminishing may you keep pure your vow.

uttiṣṭhasi svāhuto ghṛtāni prati modase yattvā srucaḥ samasthiran
Rise, O invoked one; delight in the clarified butter offered. For you the hymn stands firm.

स आहु॑तो॒ वि रो॑चते॒ऽग्निरी॒ळेन्यो॑ गि॒रा । स्रु॒चा प्रती॑कमज्यते
sa āhuto vi rocate'gnirīḷenyo girā srucā pratīkamajyate
That offered one shines forth like Agni with his tongue; the hymn is sung in turn.

घृ॒तेना॒ग्निः सम॑ज्यते॒ मधु॑प्रतीक॒ आहु॑तः । रोच॑मानो वि॒भाव॑सुः
ghṛtenāgniḥ samajyate madhupratīka āhutaḥ rocamāno vibhāvasuḥ
With clarified butter Agni is offered, called the honey-symbol; he shines, a bearer of light.

जर॑माणः॒ समि॑ध्यसे दे॒वेभ्यो॑ हव्यवाहन । तं त्वा॑ हवन्त॒ मर्त्याः॑
jaramāṇaḥ samidhyase devebhyo havyavāhana taṃ tvā havanta martyāḥ
Worn-out, weary, you move among the gods as the carrier of oblations; mortals perform that sacrifice to you.

तं म॑र्ता॒ अम॑र्त्यं घृ॒तेना॒ग्निं स॑पर्यत । अदा॑भ्यं गृ॒हप॑तिम्
taṃ martā amartyaṃ ghṛtenāgniṃ saparyata adābhyaṃ gṛhapatim
Mortals made that deathless Agni complete with clarified butter; they bestowed upon him the lord of the house.

अदा॑भ्येन शो॒चिषाग्ने॒ रक्ष॒स्त्वं द॑ह । गो॒पा ऋ॒तस्य॑ दीदिहि
adābhyena śociṣāgne rakṣastvaṃ daha gopā ṛtasya dīdihi
By that offering, O Agni, protect and burn away grief; uphold the sire of the sacred order.

स त्वम॑ग्ने॒ प्रती॑केन॒ प्रत्यो॑ष यातुधा॒न्यः॑ । उ॒रु॒क्षये॑षु॒ दीद्य॑त्
sa tvamagne pratīkena pratyoṣa yātudhānyaḥ urukṣayeṣu dīdyat
You, Agni, in return accept the oblations, repel hostile foes; shine forth among the great heroic ones.

तं त्वा॑ गी॒र्भिरु॑रु॒क्षया॑ हव्य॒वाहं॒ समी॑धिरे । यजि॑ष्ठं॒ मानु॑षे॒ जने॑
taṃ tvā gīrbhirurukṣayā havyavāhaṃ samīdhire yajiṣṭhaṃ mānuṣe jane
With hymns we have offered that oblation to you, the bearer of offerings, for the protection of men.
