प्रा॒त॒र्युजा॒ वि बो॑धया॒श्विना॒वेह ग॑च्छताम् । अ॒स्य सोम॑स्य पी॒तये॑
prātaryujā vi bodhayāśvināveha gacchatām asya somasya pītaye
At dawn go, O Ushas and the Ashvins, with awakening; for the drinking of this Soma.

या सु॒रथा॑ र॒थीत॑मो॒भा दे॒वा दि॑वि॒स्पृशा॑ । अ॒श्विना॒ ता ह॑वामहे
yā surathā rathītamobhā devā divispṛśā aśvinā tā havāmahe
That chariot-most splendid, touched by the gods in heaven, we invoke the Ashvins for; we offer that to the Ashvins.

या वां॒ कशा॒ मधु॑म॒त्यश्वि॑ना सू॒नृता॑वती । तया॑ य॒ज्ञं मि॑मिक्षतम्
yā vāṃ kaśā madhumatyaśvinā sūnṛtāvatī tayā yajñaṃ mimikṣatam
She who is sweeter than honey for you, O Ashvins, richly endowed with song—by her we observe the sacrifice.

न॒हि वा॒मस्ति॑ दूर॒के यत्रा॒ रथे॑न॒ गच्छ॑थः । अश्वि॑ना सो॒मिनो॑ गृ॒हम्
nahi vāmasti dūrake yatrā rathena gacchathaḥ aśvinā somino gṛham
There is no place far for you where you do not go with chariot; Ashvins, bring Soma into the house.

हिर॑ण्यपाणिमू॒तये॑ सवि॒तार॒मुप॑ ह्वये । स चेत्ता॑ दे॒वता॑ प॒दम्
hiraṇyapāṇimūtaye savitāramupa hvaye sa cettā devatā padam
I invoke Savitar, the one who has golden hands; let him, mindful, place the deity’s foot.

Praise Savitar who causes the waters’ descent; may his vow be upon us with warmth.

We offer the distributed oblation and the splendid garments of radiance; O Narachakṣas, we invoke Savitar.

सखा॑य॒ आ नि षी॑दत सवि॒ता स्तोम्यो॒ नु नः॑ । दाता॒ राधां॑सि शुम्भति
sakhāya ā ni ṣīdata savitā stomyo nu naḥ dātā rādhāṃsi śumbhati
O friend, come and seat yourself; Savita is to be praised by us. You bestow radiance and you are joyful.

Agni, carry the wife (consort) revered by the gods to the place of auspiciousness; for the pressing of Soma (Tvashṭār's work).

आ ग्ना अ॑ग्न इ॒हाव॑से॒ होत्रां॑ यविष्ठ॒ भार॑तीम् । वरू॑त्रीं धि॒षणां॑ वह
ā gnā agna ihāvase hotrāṃ yaviṣṭha bhāratīm varūtrīṃ dhiṣaṇāṃ vaha
Come, Agni, live here; accept the oblation, the fitted barley cake. Bear away Varuṭrī, support of the thinking ones.

अ॒भि नो॑ दे॒वीरव॑सा म॒हः शर्म॑णा नृ॒पत्नीः॑ । अच्छि॑न्नपत्राः सचन्ताम्
abhi no devīravasā mahaḥ śarmaṇā nṛpatnīḥ acchinnapatrāḥ sacantām
May the goddesses, protectresses with great glory, be toward us; may the rain-bearing leaves be present.

I invoke Indra’s and Varuna’s hymns for welfare; for Agni and for the pressing of Soma.

म॒ही द्यौः पृ॑थि॒वी च॑ न इ॒मं य॒ज्ञं मि॑मिक्षताम् । पि॒पृ॒तां नो॒ भरी॑मभिः
mahī dyauḥ pṛthivī ca na imaṃ yajñaṃ mimikṣatām pipṛtāṃ no bharīmabhiḥ
Earth, sky, do not examine this sacrifice with hostility; may it bring us ample fulfillment and fullness.

tayoridghṛtavatpayo viprā rihanti dhītibhiḥ gandharvasya dhruve pade
Like two who have milked, the wise remove (it) with keen thought; they bind the Gandharva with a steadfast foot.

स्यो॒ना पृ॑थिवि भवानृक्ष॒रा नि॒वेश॑नी । यच्छा॑ नः॒ शर्म॑ स॒प्रथः॑
syonā pṛthivi bhavānṛkṣarā niveśanī yacchā naḥ śarma saprathaḥ
May the earth become our sure resting place and spread out her sustaining supports; may that which is our protection come to us in front.

ato devā avantu no yato viṣṇurvicakrame pṛthivyāḥ sapta dhāmabhiḥ
Therefore the gods came to us from where Vishnu traversed; (he) went across the seven abodes of earth.

इ॒दं विष्णु॒र्वि च॑क्रमे त्रे॒धा नि द॑धे प॒दम् । समू॑ळ्हमस्य पांसु॒रे
idaṃ viṣṇurvi cakrame tredhā ni dadhe padam samūḷhamasya pāṃsure
Vishnu measured out this world with his threefold wheel, he pressed it deep into the muddy soil.

त्रीणि॑ प॒दा वि च॑क्रमे॒ विष्णु॑र्गो॒पा अदा॑भ्यः । अतो॒ धर्मा॑णि धा॒रय॑न्
trīṇi padā vi cakrame viṣṇurgopā adābhyaḥ ato dharmāṇi dhārayan
Vishnu moved with three steps; he kept and upheld the dharmas for the herds and pastures.

विष्णोः॒ कर्मा॑णि पश्यत॒ यतो॑ व्र॒तानि॑ पस्प॒शे । इन्द्र॑स्य॒ युज्यः॒ सखा॑
viṣṇoḥ karmāṇi paśyata yato vratāni paspaśe indrasya yujyaḥ sakhā
Observe Vishnu’s deeds by which he beheld the vows; Indra is the allied comrade.

तद्विष्णोः॑ पर॒मं प॒दं सदा॑ पश्यन्ति सू॒रयः॑ । दि॒वी॑व॒ चक्षु॒रात॑तम्
tadviṣṇoḥ paramaṃ padaṃ sadā paśyanti sūrayaḥ divīva cakṣurātatam
Those heroic ones always behold that supreme foot of Vishnu with their heavenly vision.

तद्विप्रा॑सो विप॒न्यवो॑ जागृ॒वांसः॒ समि॑न्धते । विष्णो॒र्यत्प॑र॒मं प॒दम्
tadviprāso vipanyavo jāgṛvāṃsaḥ samindhate viṣṇoryatparamaṃ padam
Thus the priests and leaders, awake like vigilant watchmen, meditate on the supreme foot of Vishnu.
