तं वः॑ सखायो॒ मदा॑य पुना॒नम॒भि गा॑यत । शिशुं॒ न य॒ज्ञैः स्व॑दयन्त गू॒र्तिभिः॑
taṃ vaḥ sakhāyo madāya punānamabhi gāyata śiśuṃ na yajñaiḥ svadayanta gūrtibhiḥ
For you, O friends, I sing toward the renewed ones; let not the infant be persuaded from within by secret snares.

सं व॒त्स इ॑व मा॒तृभि॒रिन्दु॑र्हिन्वा॒नो अ॑ज्यते । दे॒वा॒वीर्मदो॑ म॒तिभिः॒ परि॑ष्कृतः
saṃ vatsa iva mātṛbhirindurhinvāno ajyate devāvīrmado matibhiḥ pariṣkṛtaḥ
Like a calf to its mothers he is born — may the gods purify him with wise minds, free from pride.

अ॒यं दक्षा॑य॒ साध॑नो॒ऽयं शर्धा॑य वी॒तये॑ । अ॒यं दे॒वेभ्यो॒ मधु॑मत्तमः सु॒तः
ayaṃ dakṣāya sādhano'yaṃ śardhāya vītaye ayaṃ devebhyo madhumattamaḥ sutaḥ
This is for Daksha the means, this is for Sharadha the rite; this one is richest of gods, most honey‑intoxicating, well born.

गोम॑न्न इन्दो॒ अश्व॑वत्सु॒तः सु॑दक्ष धन्व । शुचिं॑ ते॒ वर्ण॒मधि॒ गोषु॑ दीधरम्
gomanna indo aśvavatsutaḥ sudakṣa dhanva śuciṃ te varṇamadhi goṣu dīdharam
Indra, like a cowman among horses and kine, skillful archer: grant that pure fame of yours dwell among the cows.

स नो॑ हरीणां पत॒ इन्दो॑ दे॒वप्स॑रस्तमः । सखे॑व॒ सख्ये॒ नर्यो॑ रु॒चे भ॑व
sa no harīṇāṃ pata indo devapsarastamaḥ sakheva sakhye naryo ruce bhava
May Indra be lord of our herds like the lord of deer; O friend, may men be radiant in fellowship.

सने॑मि॒ त्वम॒स्मदाँ अदे॑वं॒ कं चि॑द॒त्रिण॑म् । सा॒ह्वाँ इ॑न्दो॒ परि॒ बाधो॒ अप॑ द्व॒युम्
sanemi tvamasmadām̐ adevaṃ kaṃ cidatriṇam sāhvām̐ indo pari bādho apa dvayum
I present you, not a godless one nor a mere charioteer; Indra himself is the helper who bears away our twin burdens.
