ज॒ज्ञा॒नो नु श॒तक्र॑तु॒र्वि पृ॑च्छ॒दिति॑ मा॒तर॑म् । क उ॒ग्राः के ह॑ शृण्विरे
jajñāno nu śatakraturvi pṛcchaditi mātaram ka ugrāḥ ke ha śaṛṇvire
O Shatakratu, did you indeed inquire, ‘Who are the fierce ones?’—ask, mother, about the knower.

आदीं॑ शव॒स्य॑ब्रवीदौर्णवा॒भम॑ही॒शुव॑म् । ते पु॑त्र सन्तु नि॒ष्टुरः॑
ādīṃ śavasyabravīdaurṇavābhamahīśuvam te putra santu niṣṭuraḥ
The first said to the slain: “May you be strong, O brave one.”

samittānvṛtrahākhidatkhe arām̐ iva khedayā pravṛddho dasyuhābhavat
With fires they slew the wriggling foes; thus the assailant became powerful.

एक॑या प्रति॒धापि॑बत्सा॒कं सरां॑सि त्रिं॒शत॑म् । इन्द्रः॒ सोम॑स्य काणु॒का
ekayā pratidhāpibatsākaṃ sarāṃsi triṃśatam indraḥ somasya kāṇukā
When pressed singly he struck down, even thirty steeds were loosened; Indra is the bolt of Soma.

अ॒भि ग॑न्ध॒र्वम॑तृणदबु॒ध्नेषु॒ रज॒स्स्वा । इन्द्रो॑ ब्र॒ह्मभ्य॒ इद्वृ॒धे
abhi gandharvamatṛṇadabudhneṣu rajassvā indro brahmabhya idvṛdhe
He smote the Gandharva with sweet herb in the midst of enemies; Indra, ennobler, grew mighty.

निरा॑विध्यद्गि॒रिभ्य॒ आ धा॒रय॑त्प॒क्वमो॑द॒नम् । इन्द्रो॑ बु॒न्दं स्वा॑ततम्
nirāvidhyadgiribhya ā dhārayatpakvamodanam indro bundaṃ svātatam
He caused the ripe profferings to hold firm from the unconsecrated mountains; Indra made a shower of drops.

श॒तब्र॑ध्न॒ इषु॒स्तव॑ स॒हस्र॑पर्ण॒ एक॒ इत् । यमि॑न्द्र चकृ॒षे युज॑म्
śatabradhna iṣustava sahasraparṇa eka it yamindra cakṛṣe yujam
A hundred-fold he strengthened your might; with a thousand leaves he yoked the warrior — Indra performed the harnessing.

तेन॑ स्तो॒तृभ्य॒ आ भ॑र॒ नृभ्यो॒ नारि॑भ्यो॒ अत्त॑वे । स॒द्यो जा॒त ऋ॑भुष्ठिर
tena stotṛbhya ā bhara nṛbhyo nāribhyo attave sadyo jāta ṛbhuṣṭhira
By that he bore praises to men and women in their wealth; straightaway the singer was born firm.

ए॒ता च्यौ॒त्नानि॑ ते कृ॒ता वर्षि॑ष्ठानि॒ परी॑णसा । हृ॒दा वी॒ड्व॑धारयः
etā cyautnāni te kṛtā varṣiṣṭhāni parīṇasā hṛdā vīḍvadhārayaḥ
These tenacious cares were made by you, O elder of years; you established steadfast hearts in the generous.

विश्वेत्ता विष्णु॒राभ॑रदुरुक्र॒मस्त्वेषि॑तः । श॒तं म॑हि॒षान्क्षी॑रपा॒कमो॑द॒नं व॑रा॒हमिन्द्र॑ एमु॒षम्
viśvettā viṣṇurābharadurukramastveṣitaḥ śataṃ mahiṣānkṣīrapākamodanaṃ varāhamindra emuṣam
All-knowing Vishnu, strong in swift steps, from there brought a hundred great kine, the milky herd, and the boar Indra sent these.

तु॒वि॒क्षं ते॒ सुकृ॑तं सू॒मयं॒ धनुः॑ सा॒धुर्बु॒न्दो हि॑र॒ण्ययः॑ । उ॒भा ते॑ बा॒हू रण्या॒ सुसं॑स्कृत ऋदू॒पे चि॑दृदू॒वृधा॑
tuvikṣaṃ te sukṛtaṃ sūmayaṃ dhanuḥ sādhurbundo hiraṇyayaḥ ubhā te bāhū raṇyā susaṃskṛta ṛdūpe cidṛdūvṛdhā
I beheld your noble deed: the bow is excellent, the golden ornament; both your arms are ready for battle, well-fashioned and youthful.
