indraṃ naro nemadhitā havante yatpāryā yunajate dhiyastāḥ śūro nṛṣātā śavasaścakāna ā gomati vraje bhajā tvaṃ naḥ

Men call Indra the ruler who is invested when they perform the sacrifice, by whom the thoughtful are yoked. The brave, the slayers of enemies, who carry the spoil, go with cattle-streaming might—be thou our protector.

He who praises Indra with feeble words is as a teacher to comrades and priests to men. Thou art indeed the strong, O mighty Indra; restrain not the streams; do not be hindered from growing and encircling.

O Indra, do not turn away from the plain and the royal seat; let not your mind be turned from the mighty libation. With cows, horses and chariots, protect us always with well-being.
