आ या॒ह्यद्रि॑भिः सु॒तं सोमं॑ सोमपते पिब । वृष॑न्निन्द्र॒ वृष॑भिर्वृत्रहन्तम
ā yāhyadribhiḥ sutaṃ somaṃ somapate piba vṛṣannindra vṛṣabhirvṛtrahantama
He who brought Soma pressed by mountains—drink, O Lord of Soma. Bull among bulls, O Indra, breaker of Vritra.

I invoke thee, O Bull, with splendid thunderbolts and thunderous voices: bull among bulls, O Indra, breaker of Vritra.

ऋ॒जी॒षी व॒ज्री वृ॑ष॒भस्तु॑रा॒षाट् छु॒ष्मी राजा॑ वृत्र॒हा सो॑म॒पावा॑ । यु॒क्त्वा हरि॑भ्या॒मुप॑ यासद॒र्वाङ्माध्यं॑दिने॒ सव॑ने मत्स॒दिन्द्रः॑
ṛjīṣī vajrī vṛṣabhasturāṣāṭ chuṣmī rājā vṛtrahā somapāvā yuktvā haribhyāmupa yāsadarvāṅmādhyaṃdine savane matsadindraḥ
O radiant, thunder‑armed bull, mighty ruler, slayer of Vritra, Soma‑drinker! Having yoked horses to the chariots of the Hari‑folk, he advanced at mid‑day; Indra took his seat in the assembly.

यत्त्वा॑ सूर्य॒ स्व॑र्भानु॒स्तम॒सावि॑ध्यदासु॒रः । अक्षे॑त्रवि॒द्यथा॑ मु॒ग्धो भुव॑नान्यदीधयुः
yattvā sūrya svarbhānustamasāvidhyadāsuraḥ akṣetravidyathā mugdho bhuvanānyadīdhayuḥ
He who drove away darkness from the radiant Svārbhānu—like one inexperienced in a field they filled the worlds with light.

स्व॑र्भानो॒रध॒ यदि॑न्द्र मा॒या अ॒वो दि॒वो वर्त॑माना अ॒वाह॑न् । गू॒ळ्हं सूर्यं॒ तम॒साप॑व्रतेन तु॒रीये॑ण॒ ब्रह्म॑णाविन्द॒दत्रिः॑
svarbhānoradha yadindra māyā avo divo vartamānā avāhan gūḷhaṃ sūryaṃ tamasāpavratena turīyeṇa brahmaṇāvindadatriḥ
If Svārbhānu's rays, O Indra, by illusion came down from heaven, the hidden sun was revealed by the vowless darkness; thrice the Brahman pierced the lotus‑eye with his third (strike).

मा मामि॒मं तव॒ सन्त॑मत्र इर॒स्या द्रु॒ग्धो भि॒यसा॒ नि गा॑रीत् । त्वं मि॒त्रो अ॑सि स॒त्यरा॑धा॒स्तौ मे॒हाव॑तं॒ वरु॑णश्च॒ राजा॑
mā māmimaṃ tava santamatra irasyā drugdho bhiyasā ni gārīt tvaṃ mitro asi satyarādhāstau mehāvataṃ varuṇaśca rājā
Do not let jealousy or dread make me hateful to you here. You are Mitra, upholding truth; be graciously disposed to me, Varuṇa the king and he who is bountiful.

ग्राव्णो॑ ब्र॒ह्मा यु॑युजा॒नः स॑प॒र्यन्की॒रिणा॑ दे॒वान्नम॑सोप॒शिक्ष॑न् । अत्रिः॒ सूर्य॑स्य दि॒वि चक्षु॒राधा॒त्स्व॑र्भानो॒रप॑ मा॒या अ॑घुक्षत्
grāvṇo brahmā yuyujānaḥ saparyankīriṇā devānnamasopaśikṣan atriḥ sūryasya divi cakṣurādhātsvarbhānorapa māyā aghukṣat
Brahma, the herd‑leader, led the troupe chanting hymns with the staff; the Atri of the sun fixed the heavenly eye—may not Svārbhānu's illusion injure (us).

यं वै सूर्यं॒ स्व॑र्भानु॒स्तम॒सावि॑ध्यदासु॒रः । अत्र॑य॒स्तमन्व॑विन्दन्न॒ह्य१॒॑न्ये अश॑क्नुवन्
yaṃ vai sūryaṃ svarbhānustamasāvidhyadāsuraḥ atrayastamanvavindannahya1nye aśaknuvan
He indeed who made the sun Svārbhānu—darkness overthrown—those three pierced the darkness with their vision; others could not endure it.
