If Svārbhānu's rays, O Indra, by illusion came down from heaven, the hidden sun was revealed by the vowless darkness; thrice the Brahman pierced the lotus‑eye with his third (strike).
When, Indra, you were dissipating those illusions of Svarbhānu which were spread below the sun, then Atri, by his fourth sacred prayer, discovered the sun concealed by the darkness impeding his functions.
What time thou smotest down Svarbhanu's magic that spread itself beneath the sky, O Indra, By his fourth sacred prayer Atri disoovered Surya concealed in gloom that stayed his function.
