इ॒मामू॒ षु प्रभृ॑तिं सा॒तये॑ धाः॒ शश्व॑च्छश्वदू॒तिभि॒र्याद॑मानः । सु॒तेसु॑ते वावृधे॒ वर्ध॑नेभि॒र्यः कर्म॑भिर्म॒हद्भिः॒ सुश्रु॑तो॒ भूत्
imāmū ṣu prabhṛtiṃ sātaye dhāḥ śaśvacchaśvadūtibhiryādamānaḥ sutesute vāvṛdhe vardhanebhiryaḥ karmabhirmahadbhiḥ suśruto bhūt
Establish this early power, the steadfast herd, ever enduring like swift messengers. In offspring, in progeny increase—by noble deeds and great acts let it be heard and become.

इन्द्रा॑य॒ सोमाः॑ प्र॒दिवो॒ विदा॑ना ऋ॒भुर्येभि॒र्वृष॑पर्वा॒ विहा॑याः । प्र॒य॒म्यमा॑ना॒न्प्रति॒ षू गृ॑भा॒येन्द्र॒ पिब॒ वृष॑धूतस्य॒ वृष्णः॑
indrāya somāḥ pradivo vidānā ṛbhuryebhirvṛṣaparvā vihāyāḥ prayamyamānānprati ṣū gṛbhāyendra piba vṛṣadhūtasya vṛṣṇaḥ
For Indra and the Soma the strong singers, the bards, brought forth the wide‑moving bulls; they pressed forth the flood of cows harnessed to the vat. They offered the draught to Indra, the producer of mighty wealth.

पिबा॒ वर्ध॑स्व॒ तव॑ घा सु॒तास॒ इन्द्र॒ सोमा॑सः प्रथ॒मा उ॒तेमे । यथापि॑बः पू॒र्व्याँ इ॑न्द्र॒ सोमा॑ँ ए॒वा पा॑हि॒ पन्यो॑ अ॒द्या नवी॑यान्
pibā vardhasva tava ghā sutāsa indra somāsaḥ prathamā uteme yathāpibaḥ pūrvyām̐ indra somām̐ evā pāhi panyo adyā navīyān
Drink and prosper, may your progeny flourish, O Indra; the first of pressed Somās be offered now as of old—protect the new libation and make it vigorous.

म॒हाँ अम॑त्रो वृ॒जने॑ विर॒प्श्यु१॒॑ग्रं शवः॑ पत्यते धृ॒ष्ण्वोजः॑ । नाह॑ विव्याच पृथि॒वी च॒नैनं॒ यत्सोमा॑सो॒ हर्य॑श्व॒मम॑न्दन्
mahām̐ amatro vṛjane virapśyu1graṃ śavaḥ patyate dhṛṣṇvojaḥ nāha vivyāca pṛthivī canainaṃ yatsomāso haryaśvamamandan
Great friend, at the booty’s feast he took the vigorous steed; the corpse falls, the bold one grasps it. The earth did not hide, nor did the twofold moon avert that which the brilliant Soma yoked to the golden‑maned steed.

म॒हाँ उ॒ग्रो वा॑वृधे वी॒र्या॑य स॒माच॑क्रे वृष॒भः काव्ये॑न । इन्द्रो॒ भगो॑ वाज॒दा अ॑स्य॒ गावः॒ प्र जा॑यन्ते॒ दक्षि॑णा अस्य पू॒र्वीः
mahām̐ ugro vāvṛdhe vīryāya samācakre vṛṣabhaḥ kāvyena indro bhago vājadā asya gāvaḥ pra jāyante dakṣiṇā asya pūrvīḥ
A mighty and fierce bull increased his valor; with inspired prowess he yoked it. Indra, lord of riches and giver of strength, his cows are born—their right‑hand flank and their foreparts.

प्र यत्सिन्ध॑वः प्रस॒वं यथाय॒न्नापः॑ समु॒द्रं र॒थ्ये॑व जग्मुः । अत॑श्चि॒दिन्द्रः॒ सद॑सो॒ वरी॑या॒न्यदीं॒ सोमः॑ पृ॒णति॑ दु॒ग्धो अं॒शुः
pra yatsindhavaḥ prasavaṃ yathāyannāpaḥ samudraṃ rathyeva jagmuḥ ataścidindraḥ sadaso varīyānyadīṃ somaḥ pṛṇati dugdho aṃśuḥ
As when the rippling waters bore off the coursers toward the sea, so the strong ones went like chariots. Thereupon Indra, in his seats, the generous Soma fills with milk, the radiant eye.

स॒मु॒द्रेण॒ सिन्ध॑वो॒ याद॑माना॒ इन्द्रा॑य॒ सोमं॒ सुषु॑तं॒ भर॑न्तः । अं॒शुं दु॑हन्ति ह॒स्तिनो॑ भ॒रित्रै॒र्मध्वः॑ पुनन्ति॒ धार॑या प॒वित्रैः॑
samudreṇa sindhavo yādamānā indrāya somaṃ suṣutaṃ bharantaḥ aṃśuṃ duhanti hastino bharitrairmadhvaḥ punanti dhārayā pavitraiḥ
The Sindhavas, rejoicing in the ocean, brought the Soma pressed for Indra. They bear the sleeping Soma, milking the ray; the milking hands cleanse with sacred streams.

ह्र॒दा इ॑व कु॒क्षयः॑ सोम॒धानाः॒ समी॑ विव्याच॒ सव॑ना पु॒रूणि॑ । अन्ना॒ यदिन्द्रः॑ प्रथ॒मा व्याश॑ वृ॒त्रं ज॑घ॒न्वाँ अ॑वृणीत॒ सोम॑म्
hradā iva kukṣayaḥ somadhānāḥ samī vivyāca savanā purūṇi annā yadindraḥ prathamā vyāśa vṛtraṃ jaghanvām̐ avṛṇīta somam
Like a lake are the hollows where the Soma gathers; he spread forth the full streams with the people. That which Indra first opened, he pierced the Vritra’s belly and uncovered the Soma.

आ तू भ॑र॒ माकि॑रे॒तत्परि॑ ष्ठाद्वि॒द्मा हि त्वा॒ वसु॑पतिं॒ वसू॑नाम् । इन्द्र॒ यत्ते॒ माहि॑नं॒ दत्र॒मस्त्य॒स्मभ्यं॒ तद्ध॑र्यश्व॒ प्र य॑न्धि
ā tū bhara mākiretatpari ṣṭhādvidmā hi tvā vasupatiṃ vasūnām indra yatte māhinaṃ datramastyasmabhyaṃ taddharyaśva pra yandhi
Come, we will bear thee about; we know thee as the lord of wealth and of possessions. Indra, what of the great gift thou gavest to us—bear it, O prancing steed.

अ॒स्मे प्र य॑न्धि मघवन्नृजीषि॒न्निन्द्र॑ रा॒यो वि॒श्ववा॑रस्य॒ भूरेः॑ । अ॒स्मे श॒तं श॒रदो॑ जी॒वसे॑ धा अ॒स्मे वी॒राञ्छश्व॑त इन्द्र शिप्रिन्
asme pra yandhi maghavannṛjīṣinnindra rāyo viśvavārasya bhūreḥ asme śataṃ śarado jīvase dhā asme vīrāñchaśvata indra śiprin
O prancing steed, mighty in spoils, hasten to us, Indra—lord of kings and of wide dominion. May hundreds of autumns live for us; may heroes and enduring Indra be swift.

शु॒नं हु॑वेम म॒घवा॑न॒मिन्द्र॑म॒स्मिन्भरे॒ नृत॑मं॒ वाज॑सातौ । शृ॒ण्वन्त॑मु॒ग्रमू॒तये॑ स॒मत्सु॒ घ्नन्तं॑ वृ॒त्राणि॑ सं॒जितं॒ धना॑नाम्
śunaṃ huvema maghavānamindramasminbhare nṛtamaṃ vājasātau śaṛṇvantamugramūtaye samatsu ghnantaṃ vṛtrāṇi saṃjitaṃ dhanānām
We pour forth homage to Indra, the wealthy; we invoke him in the pair of songs. Hear, O mighty slayer, the roaring prayers that overthrow the Vṛitra and win treasures.
