We sacrificed Indra, the bolt to the right, the chariot of the deer, the fast‑moving ones set apart. They, ascending, smeared and milked upward; on earth, the host with their forces moved with the rushing ones.

The deer of the forest which roamed in the wood became Vāsavya by the gifts of Indra and the heroes. The skilful wielder of strength offers sacrifice; I have cut the offering, serving the slave's name.

He who spoke many‑voiced words, rich in sweetness, struck a thousandfold blow. I call that the father's portion; he who nurtured deadly poison guarded the beast.
