Purely shining, those Soma-streams flowed from the mountains, these are streams of Soma. O kings, come to the sky-touching place for us. These are your Mitra-Varuna-headed cows, the Somās, bright-headed cows.

These Soma-streams have borne the Indus, the Soma-streams bore bright heads, the channeled streams bore them. Or the east wind’s dawn with the rays of the Sun. For Mitra and Varuna the drink is for the one who is fair, for the lovely truth.

Those cows milk not this day for mere dwellers; the mountains milk Soma with their streams. Come to us, O radiant ones, for Soma-drinking. This one, Mitra-Varuna’s, is gifted to men: Soma for drinking, Soma for the drinkers.
