May the earth bear these bulls for us, may she yield flesh either to the butcher or the sharer. Let the sinless ones bestow sleep and affection; may hostile waters be turned away, unagitated.
These two great acts, the raining (of arrows) and the humiliation (of foes), are the givers of happiness; they are deadly either in a fight on horseback or in a hand to hand fight; he has put the foes to sleep and driven them away; doyou (Soma) drive away the enemies and unbelievers.
Eagerly do we pray for those two exploits, at the blue lake and Prsana, wrought in battle. He sent our enemies to sleep and slew thern, and turned away the foolish and unfriendly.
