yannāsatyā bhuraṇyatho yadvā deva bhiṣajyathaḥ ayaṃ vāṃ vatso matibhirna vindhate haviṣmantaṃ hi gacchathaḥ
Whether by the bountiful one or by the god who heals — this calf of yours, with wise thoughts, does not find the offering; indeed it goes to those who come with homage.
Although, Nāsatyās, you cherish (all beings), though, divinities, you heal (all disease),, yet this youradorer does not obtain you by praises (only), you go to him who offers you oblations.
What force, Nasatyas, ye exert, whatever, Gods, ye tend and heal, This your own Vatsa gains not by his hymns alone: ye visit him who offers gifts.
