pra va indrāya bṛhate maruto brahmārcata vṛtraṃ hanati vṛtrahā śatakraturvajreṇa śataparvaṇā
So, for great Indra, the Maruts loudly celebrated. Indra slays Vritra, the Vritra-slayer with hundred deeds, striking with thunderbolt and a hundred-fold fervour.
Priests, utter forth the hymn to your great Indra; let Śatakratu, the slayer of Vṛtra, smite Vṛtra with hishundred-edged thunderbolt.
Striving for strength bring forth a laud to Indra, a truthful hymn if he in truth existeth. One and another say, There is no Indra. Who hath beheld him? Whom then shall we honour?
