एक॑ ए॒वाग्निर्ब॑हु॒धा समि॑द्ध॒ एकः॒ सूर्यो॒ विश्व॒मनु॒ प्रभू॑तः । एकै॒वोषाः सर्व॑मि॒दं वि भा॒त्येकं॒ वा इ॒दं वि ब॑भूव॒ सर्व॑म्
eka evāgnirbahudhā samiddha ekaḥ sūryo viśvamanu prabhūtaḥ ekaivoṣāḥ sarvamidaṃ vi bhātyekaṃ vā idaṃ vi babhūva sarvam
One only is Agni though invoked in many forms; one only is the Sun ruling all from the summit. One dawn alone pervades all this; one was it that became all, or one that became this entirely.
Agni is one, though kindled in various ways; one is the Sun, pre- eminent over all; one Dawn illuminesthis all; one is that which has become this all.
Thou wishest for thy kine a bull, for those who long for his approach, For those who turn away from him, lord of thy cows whom none may kill.
