अश्वं॒ न गी॒र्भी र॒थ्यं॑ सु॒दान॑वो मर्मृ॒ज्यन्ते॑ देव॒यवः॑ । उ॒भे तो॒के तन॑ये दस्म विश्पते॒ पर्षि॒ राधो॑ म॒घोना॑म्
aśvaṃ na gīrbhī rathyaṃ sudānavo marmṛjyante devayavaḥ ubhe toke tanaye dasma viśpate parṣi rādho maghonām
Horses are yoked, voices mount the chariot; generous onsets are set ablaze, the gods are invoked. Both offspring of the giver, tenfold, O lord, drive the rich ones onward.
The liberal worshippers with their hymns honour you harnessed to the car like a horse; graceful lord ofmen, grant wealth to us rich in children and grandchildren.
O Indra-Varuna, grant to the worshippers cheerfulness void of pride, and wealth to nourish them. Vouchsafe us food, prosperity, and progeny, and lengthen out our days that we may see long life. RIG VEDA - BOOK THE NINTH
