Indra and Vishnu upheld the strong fortress of battle, the new city, the ninety-ninefold host that remained. A hundred powers and a thousand companions were with the hero who did not fail the asylum.
Indra and Viṣṇu, you have demolished the ninety-nine strong cities of Śambara; you have slain atonce, without resistance, the hundred thousand heroes of the Asura Varcin.
Ye have destroyed, thou, Indra, and thou Visnu, Sambara's nine-and-ninety fenced castles. Ye Twain smote down a hundred times a thousand resistless heroes of the royal Varcin.
