पृ॒च्छे तदेनो॑ वरुण दि॒दृक्षूपो॑ एमि चिकि॒तुषो॑ वि॒पृच्छ॑म् । स॒मा॒नमिन्मे॑ क॒वय॑श्चिदाहुर॒यं ह॒ तुभ्यं॒ वरु॑णो हृणीते
pṛcche tadeno varuṇa didṛkṣūpo emi cikituṣo vipṛccham samānaminme kavayaścidāhurayaṃ ha tubhyaṃ varuṇo hṛṇīte
I ask you, Varuṇa, this: the seeker of remedies came asking priests. Poets say one and the same thing to me — Varuṇa calls this to you.
Desirous of beholding you, Varuṇa, I inquire what is my offence; I have gone to make inquiry of thewise; the sages verily have said the same thing to me: -- this Varuṇa is displeased with you.
Fain to know this in in I question others: I seek the wise, O Varuna, and ask them. This one same answer even the sages gave me, "Surely this Varuna is angry with thee."
