O kings, uphold the law: chiefs, lords of the flood and stewards of cattle, let the warrior-spoken words go forth. May Mitra and Varuna grant us rain, moistening the fields like fresh sustenance.
Sovereigns, mighty preservers of water, powerful lords of rivers, come to our presence; send down tous munificent Mitra and Varuṇa, from the firmament, sustenance and rain.
Kings, guards of rrtighty everlasting Order, come hitherward, ye Princes, Lords of Rivers. Send us from heaven, O Varuna and Mitra, rain and sweet food, ye who pour down your bounties.
