Ah, when Indra at the auspicious day unloosed and placed what is like a banner among the hosts — the fire did not sit as a hostile one, not the ally here of the gods.
When, Indra, fortunate days arise, when you advance your emblem in battles, the strong Agni, theinvoker of the gods, summoning the gods hither for our benefit, sits down on the sacred grass.
When fair bright days shall dawn on us, O Indra, and thou shalt bring thy banner near in battle, Agni the Asura shall sit as Herald, calling Gods hither for our great good fortune.
