जा॒तो यद॑ग्ने॒ भुव॑ना॒ व्यख्यः॑ प॒शून्न गो॒पा इर्यः॒ परि॑ज्मा । वैश्वा॑नर॒ ब्रह्म॑णे विन्द गा॒तुं यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभिः॒ सदा॑ नः
jāto yadagne bhuvanā vyakhyaḥ paśūnna gopā iryaḥ parijmā vaiśvānara brahmaṇe vinda gātuṃ yūyaṃ pāta svastibhiḥ sadā naḥ
As you were born, Agni, you made the worlds plain; the cattle, the herdsman and the wanderer surround you. Vaishvanara, come to Brahman and find a path; be our keeper always with auspiciousness.
When you are born, Agni, the lord, the circumambient, you watch over all creatures as a herdsman overhis cattle; be willing, Vaiśvānara, to requite our praise, and do you cherish us with blessings.
Agni, when, born thou lookedst on all creatures, like a brisk herdsman moving round his cattle. The path to prayer, Vaisvanara, thou foundest. Ye Gods, preserve us evermore with blessings.
