Indra and Agni set forth from the feet of those who went before; cutting off (the foe) with head and tongue, they advanced having taken from the thirty feet.
This footless (dawn), Indra and Agni, comes before the footed sleepers, animating the head (of living beings with consciousness), causing them to utter loud sounds with their tongues, and passing onwards she traverses thirty steps.
First, Indra-Agni, hath this Maid come footless unto those with feet. Stretching her head and speaking loudly with her tongue, she hath gone downward thirty steps.
