आ नो॑ रु॒द्रस्य॑ सू॒नवो॑ नमन्ताम॒द्या हू॒तासो॒ वस॒वोऽधृ॑ष्टाः । यदी॒मर्भे॑ मह॒ति वा॑ हि॒तासो॑ बा॒धे म॒रुतो॒ अह्वा॑म दे॒वान्
ā no rudrasya sūnavo namantāmadyā hūtāso vasavo'dhṛṣṭāḥ yadīmarbhe mahati vā hitāso bādhe maruto ahvāma devān
May the sons of Rudra greet us today; the invoked Vasavas are present. If in this realm of great peril the Maruts stand as defenders, may the gods call us to help.
May the sons of Rudra, givers of dwellings, the unsubdued, invoked on this occasion, stoop down to us, inasmuch as we call upon the divine Maruts that they may be our helpers in difficulty, great or small.
This day invited may the Sons of Rudra, resistless, excellent, stoop down to meet us; For, when beset with slight or sore affliction, we ever call upon the Gods, the Maruts;
