अस्मा॑ ए॒तन्मह्या॑ङ्गू॒षम॑स्मा॒ इन्द्रा॑य स्तो॒त्रं म॒तिभि॑रवाचि । अस॒द्यथा॑ मह॒ति वृ॑त्र॒तूर्य॒ इन्द्रो॑ वि॒श्वायु॑रवि॒ता वृ॒धश्च॑
asmā etanmahyāṅgūṣamasmā indrāya stotraṃ matibhiravāci asadyathā mahati vṛtratūrya indro viśvāyuravitā vṛdhaśca
For us he is the great refuge, for Indra a hymn sung by counsels. Thus as a mighty slayer of Vritra Indra became strong, life-giver, and growing.
To this Indra has this earnest eulogy been addressed by the devout, in order that the all-pervading Indra may be our defender and exalter in the great conflict with (our) foes.
To him this mighty eulogy, to Indra hath this our laud been uttered by the poets, That in the great encounter with the foemen, Loved of all life, Indra may guard and help us.
