अनु॒ त्वाहि॑घ्ने॒ अध॑ देव दे॒वा मद॒न्विश्वे॑ क॒वित॑मं कवी॒नाम् । करो॒ यत्र॒ वरि॑वो बाधि॒ताय॑ दि॒वे जना॑य त॒न्वे॑ गृणा॒नः
anu tvāhighne adha deva devā madanviśve kavitamaṃ kavīnām karo yatra varivo bādhitāya dive janāya tanve gṛṇānaḥ
Hither, Agni, O lord of gods, follow all poets’ hymns. Do where the waters press down for the afflicted at day—people to be generous, give strength to the song.
Divine Indra, all the gods have glorified you, the wisest of the wise, for the destruction of Ahi; when propitiated, you have given wealth to the distressed worshipper, and to his posterity.
In thee, O God, the wisest of the Sages, all Gods were joyful when thou slewest Ahi. When lauded for thyself, thou gavest freedom to sore-afflicted Heaven and to the people.
