Agni indeed will bring the god who lies down to the wise; he will carry the mortal upward. He whose fame is wrapped with treasures is the ruler in the hymns.

The mighty and divine Agni, endowed with knowledge, protects the mortal from reproach whose rich (offerings) are unobstructed (by evil spirits), and unshared by other (offerers) at sacrifices.

For with his wisdom Agni, God, protects the mortal from reproach, Whose conquering wealth is never checked, is never checked in deeds of might.
