imāmū ṣvāsurasya śrutasya mahīṃ māyāṃ varuṇasya pra vocam māneneva tasthivām̐ antarikṣe vi yo mame pṛthivīṃ sūryeṇa
Varuṇa spoke this speech about the heard, supreme atmosphere: 'Let not my earth be deceived; stand firm in measure within the sky—what is mine is with the Sun.'
I proclaim this great device of the renowned Varuṇa, the destroyer of the Asuras, who, abiding in the mid-heaven, has meted the firmament by the sun, as if by a measure.
I will declare this mighty deed of magic, of glorious Varuna the Lord Immortal, Who standing in the firmament hath meted the earth out with the Sun as with a measure.
