यु॒ङ्ग्ध्वं ह्यरु॑षी॒ रथे॑ यु॒ङ्ग्ध्वं रथे॑षु रो॒हितः॑ । यु॒ङ्ग्ध्वं हरी॑ अजि॒रा धु॒रि वोळ्ह॑वे॒ वहि॑ष्ठा धु॒रि वोळ्ह॑वे
yuṅgdhvaṃ hyaruṣī rathe yuṅgdhvaṃ ratheṣu rohitaḥ yuṅgdhvaṃ harī ajirā dhuri voḷhave vahiṣṭhā dhuri voḷhave
Yoke the steeds, O charioteer; yoke them to the chariot, O Rohita. Yoke the swift, wide-breasted horses; harness them that they may run forth, bearers of you on the chariot’s axle.
Yoke the bright steeds to the car, yoke the red steeds to the cars; yoke the swift pair of horses to bear the burden; the strong bearing to bear the burden.
Bind to your car the bright red mares, yoke the red coursers to your car. Bind to the pole, to draw, the fleet-foot tawny steeds, the best at drawing, to the pole.
