This earth spread forth from the Maruts, the heaven spread forth from the Fathers. The paths spread forth in the midspace; the mountains, wide-ranged, stood firm.
This wide-extended earth is for the Maruts; the spacious heaven is for the spreading winds; the paths of the firmament are provided (for their course); for them the expanding clouds quickly bestow (their gifts).
Free for the Maruts is the earth with sloping ways, free for the rushing Ones is heaven with steep descents. The paths of air's mid-region are precipitous, precipitous the mountains with their running streams.
