padepade me jarimā ni dhāyi varūtrī vā śakrā yā pāyubhiśca siṣaktu mātā mahī rasā naḥ smatsūribhirṛjuhasta ṛjuvaniḥ
At every step grant me firmness, O Varuṭrī or Śakra, who sustains with the feet. Let the mother earth bind us; let the breezes of the sun be kindly, straightening our ways.
My praise has been continually proffered as a protectress, powerful with (the means of) preservation; may the maternal and venerable earth accept our (praises), and, (plural ased) with her pious (worshippers) be (to us) straight-handed, and the giver of good.
Duly to each one hath my laud been offered. Strong be Varutri with her powers to succour. May the great Mother Rasa here befriend us, straight-handed, with the princes, striving forward.
