kathā mahe rudriyāya bravāma kadrāye cikituṣe bhagāya āpa oṣadhīruta no'vantu dyaurvanā girayo vṛkṣakeśāḥ
How shall I speak the Rudrīya? How shall I heal the afflicted, O Bhaga? May remedies protect us; may heavens, forests, mountains and tree-tops be our refuge.
Howcan we offer (fit praise) to the mighty posterity of Rudra, or to the all-knowing Bhaga, for (the sake of obtaining) riches; may the waters, may the plural nts, protect us, and the heaven, the woods, and the mountains, whose tresses are trees.
How shall we speak to the great might of Rudra? How speak to Bhaga who takes thought for riches? May Plants, the Waters, and the Sky preserve us, and Woods and Mountains with their trees for tresses.
