You have perceived, O poet, the speech to be known; fill it with fame for the ancient one. The godly, well‑served, ruler, bearer of wealth, Agni is established in front.
I offer praise to Agni, the creator, the far-seeing, the adorable, the renowned, the first (of the gods); he who is propitiated by oblations, the strong, the giver of happiness, the possessor of riches, the receiver of oblations, the bestower of oblations.
To him, the far-renowned, the wise Ordainer, ancient and glorious, a song I offer. Enthroned in oil, the Asura, bliss-giver, is Agni, firm support of noble, riches.
