May Agni not depart from our sacrifice; men bear the pure fire from house to house. Agni became messenger, bearer of oblations; choose Agni, men of courage choose the Angiras (priest) to perform the rites.
May Agni, the fulfiller (of all desires) come to our sacrifice; men cherish Agni in every dwelling; Agni, the bearer of oblations, has become the messenger (of the gods); those adoring Agni adore him as the accomplisher of the sacrifice.
May Agni graciously come to our sacrifice. The men bear Agni here and there in every house. He hath become an envoy, bearer of our gifts: electing Agni, men choose one exceeding wise.
