O Agni, those whose words strike like the moon glide downwards; by subtle strains men break the day and in their great renown consciousness is roused.
Delightful Agni, those men who glorify you with hymns become rich in horses, and are invigorated with (foe-destroying) energies; and their great renown, spread through the firmament arouses (you) of your own accord.
Bright Agni, they who deck their songs for thee have horses as their meed. The men are mighty in their might, they whose high laud, as that of heaven, awakes thee of its own accord.
