I have spoken to the seerly poets with wise speech: praise to the Bull, to Vṛṣṇa. Hail to the powerful singer, to Agni, golden-hued, to the one who adorns the radiant world with sacred song.

We have uttered aloud this encomiastic praise to the wise, holy, vigorous (Agni), the showerer (of benefits); Gaviṣṭhira offers with reverence (this) praise to Agni like the wide-sojourning (sun), effulgent in the sky.

To him adorable, sage, strong and mighty we have sung forth our song of praise and homage. Gavisthira hath raised with prayer to Agni this laud far-reaching, like gold light to heaven.
