ko vastrātā vasavaḥ ko varūtā dyāvābhūmī adite trāsīthāṃ naḥ sahīyaso varuṇa mitra martātko vo'dhvare varivo dhāti devāḥ
Who are the Vesvas who protect, who terrify the heavens and earth, O Aditi, on our behalf? Who are the friends Varuna and Mitra who are steadfast; who strew paths and place waters—these gods uphold the roads for us.
Which of you, Vasus, is a defender? Which is a protector? Heaven and earth and Aditi preserve us; defend us, Mitra and Varuṇa, from the strong man; who is it, gods, that offers you wealth at the sacrifice?
WHO of you, Vasus, saveth? who protecteth? O Heaven and Earth and Aditi, preserve us, Varuna., Mitra, from the stronger mortal. Gods, which of you at sacrifice giveth comfort?
