इन्द्र॑ज्येष्ठान्बृ॒हद्भ्यः॒ पर्व॑तेभ्यः॒ क्षया॑ँ एभ्यः सुवसि प॒स्त्या॑वतः । यथा॑यथा प॒तय॑न्तो वियेमि॒र ए॒वैव त॑स्थुः सवितः स॒वाय॑ ते
indrajyeṣṭhānbṛhadbhyaḥ parvatebhyaḥ kṣayām̐ ebhyaḥ suvasi pastyāvataḥ yathāyathā patayanto viyemira evaiva tasthuḥ savitaḥ savāya te
Great Indra, elder of the mountains, from the wide peaks and from the falling places grant abundant life, O Savita, like those who, as they fall, remain—thus stood the activations of Savita for you.
You elevate those, of whom Indra is chief, above the vast clouds; for these, (your worshippers), you provide dwelling (plural ces) filled in habitations; as when advancing they detained you, so in like manner at your command they stayed.
To lofty hills thou sendest those whom Indra leads, and givest fixed abodes with houses unto these. However they may fly and draw themselves apart, still, Savitar, they stand obeying thy behest.
