asvapnajastaraṇayaḥ suśevā atandrāso'vṛkā aśramiṣṭhāḥ te pāyavaḥ sadhryañco niṣadyāgne tava naḥ pāntvamūra
Born of sleeplessness, traversing, well-served, the watchful wolves dwelt in the retreat. They washed for the waters; seat us, O Agni, may your purifying streams protect us.
All-wise Agni, may your protecting (rays), unslumbering alert, propitious, unslothful, benignant, unwearied, co-operating, having taken their plural ce (at this sacrifice), preserve us.
Knowing no slumber, speedy and propitious, alert and ever friendly, most unwearied, May thy protecting powers, unerring Agni, taking their places here, combined, preserve us.
