यः स्मा॑रुन्धा॒नो गध्या॑ स॒मत्सु॒ सनु॑तर॒श्चर॑ति॒ गोषु॒ गच्छ॑न् । आ॒विरृ॑जीको वि॒दथा॑ नि॒चिक्य॑त्ति॒रो अ॑र॒तिं पर्याप॑ आ॒योः
yaḥ smārundhāno gadhyā samatsu sanutaraścarati goṣu gacchan āvirṛjīko vidathā nicikyattiro aratiṃ paryāpa āyoḥ
He who, taking the yoke-pins, went among the herds and circled cows, coming and going; he pierced the low and the far, he reached the ruin between the two waters.
Who, opposing the mingled multitude in battles, rushes eager, passing through the regions, whose vigour is manifestl, who, understanding what is to be known, puts to shame the adversary of the (pious) man.
Who gaineth precious booty in the combats and moveth, winning spoil, among the cattle; Shown in bright colour, looking on the assemblies, beyond the churl, to worship of the living.
