त्वं चि॑न्नः॒ शम्या॑ अग्ने अ॒स्या ऋ॒तस्य॑ बोध्यृतचित्स्वा॒धीः । क॒दा त॑ उ॒क्था स॑ध॒माद्या॑नि क॒दा भ॑वन्ति स॒ख्या गृ॒हे ते॑
tvaṃ cinnaḥ śamyā agne asyā ṛtasya bodhyṛtacitsvādhīḥ kadā ta ukthā sadhamādyāni kadā bhavanti sakhyā gṛhe te
You, Agni, the wise one, know the rule of this rite and the recitation’s power. When will the hymns of the sacred day be present, when will your companions be in your house?
You Agni, preside over this our rite; do you who are cognizant of truth, and the author of good works, recognize this our adoration, whenever these exhilarating prayers (are addressed) to you whenever friendly relations with you are (established) in our dwelling.
Even as true knower of the Law, O Agni, to this our solemn rite he thou attentive. When shall thy songs of festival be sung thee? When is thy friendship shown within our dwelling?
